Does the map show more than the real flood risk on your property?

It is important that flood predictions are accurate:
“The consequence of getting the flood hazard assessment wrong varies from catastrophic (loss of life) to severe (property damage). Equally important is to not falsely identify a property under flood risk as there are financial impacts to the ratepayer – building restrictions and/or devalued property.”

THE CHALLENGES OF MONITORING URBAN STORMWATER FLOWS Paper by Peter Stephens – AWT New Zealand Ltd

Is this flood map for Elmslie and Forest Roads accurate?
Because of this flood map will you have any problems with:
  • selling your property?
  • getting a building consent?
  • getting a subdivision consent?
  • building a culvert over the stream?
  • getting insurance for flood protection cover?

Come and find out more about the flood maps.

We seek your views or concerns about the level of predicted flooding on your property.
We have invited Greater Wellington Regional Council to attend.
