Pinehaven School are looking to build a community bike track and need some assistance.

We have visited some of the Hawke’s Bay schools who have the bike tracks running and were very impressed with what we saw. We plan to have 3 tracks – a loop track that goes around our field, a skills track with obstacles, and a pump track. We will also have 260 helmets and 50 bikes here at school, housed in a container. The total cost of the project is approximately $50,000 and we have already been granted $20,000 from the Greater Wellington Regional Council.
We are currently applying for funding and approaching businesses who may be interested in sponsoring our project. So that the project costs don’t impact on other resources and programmes here at school, we are applying for grants that we don’t usually access for other resources. It may well be that you can help. If you know of a business that may be interested in helping with sponsorship (every little bit helps), please get in touch with us. It may be that your employer or business may be interested, or that you know someone who might be interested. We will be acknowledging sponsors through advertising in our newsletter, signage, and also inviting them to our grand opening. We are happy to talk to any sponsors about what might be in it for them! We are also interested in talking to any families who wish to fund a small aspect of the project (e.g. you might want to donate the money for a helmet, a bike, a tree or shrub/bench seat that will be planted/placed along the track), or even one of the obstacles on the skills track! Every little bit will help towards us getting the bike track underway.
We are hopeful to have this all up and running for the beginning of next year, so don’t be shy. If you may be able to help, please get in touch with me. Below is a very rough sketch of where the track will go, but we have a much more detailed proposal we can share with any prospective sponsors or interested parties.
